Courtlyn McCain has been a costumer since 2014. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology in Spring of 2017. In her time at WKU, she worked in the costume shop, helping to build many productions, as well as completing several costume designs. She also received a research grant to study costuming for film and television. She has worked in the wardrobe department at the Colorado Ballet and was the Resident Costume Designer at Performing Arts Academy Colorado, costuming over 2 dozen shows with them. Courtlyn was the costume designer for College Light Opera’s 2024 season, designing 9 productions in 11 weeks. She is currently working towards her MFA in Costume Design at UGA, and expects to graduate in Spring of 2025.
Courtlyn absolutely loves being a costumer, both as a designer and a technician. She loves telling a story through characters’ clothing, and is passionate about the world of performing arts and how it brings all kinds of people, all over the world together.
